The Great Minds in STEM (GMiS) 2015-16 HENAAC Scholarship Application

Graduating high school seniors, undergraduate students and graduate students, who intend to or are currently pursuing a science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) degree at an accredited college/university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico, are encouraged to apply for these merit-based scholarships. In addition, students must have an overall minimum 3.0 GPA and must be of Hispanic descent or demonstrate extensive leadership and service within the Hispanic community.

Scholarship awards range from $500 - $10,000.

In 2014, GMiS awarded over $300,000 in financial support to qualified STEM students. Since 2001, over 930 students have received more than $2.3M in scholarships.

Scholarship recipients will be invited to attend the 2015 HENAAC Conference, from October 14 – 18, 2015, in Pasadena, CA. Great Minds in STEM subsidizes over $850 in additional registration, travel and housing for the Scholars to attend this conference, where they will meet their sponsors, be awarded their scholarship and formally recognized as new members of the GMiS Scholars Society.

Dominion's Explore Dominion Scholarships

The Explore Dominion program offers students the opportunity to put book knowledge to real life workplace needs at one of the nation's largest producers and transporters of energy. This program assists eligible students in achieving their fullest potential by providing a $5000 scholarship at the conclusion of two 10-12 week paid summer internships (Summer 2015 and Summer 2016)

Who is Eligible?

  • At the time of applying, applicants must have a graduation date of May 2017 or later.
  • Enrolled or registered at an accredited 4-year college or university as a full-time student
  • 3.0 cumulative GPA or above (on a 4.0 scale) required
