College Shadow Day
On October 17th, 2016, College Shadow Day was hosted in Hale Hall at The Ohio State University. The goal of College Shadow Day is to expose high school students to college life as an engineering student. With the help of 19 current engineering students and the National Society of Black Engineers, 39 students from local high schools experienced college for a day. Participants were able to attend classes with current engineering students, tour campus, and grab lunch at a university dining facility. Additionally, high school students participated in a design-build project that highlighted civil engineering concepts as well as real-world constraints to building structures.
