MEP Alumnus Receives AISES Award
MEP alumnus Joseph Connolly has been selected to receive the 2014 Technical Excellence Award by the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES). This award is given annually to an American Indian/Alaskan Native for making a significant contribution to science, engineering, or technology by having designed, developed, managed, or assisted in the development of a product, service, system, or intellectual property. Joe will be presented the award this November at the AISES National Conference in Orlando, Florida.
Joe is a member of the Haudensaunee of the Onondaga Nation-Wolf Clan from Six Nations Reserve of the Grand River. He is a 2004 graduate of the Aerospace Engineering Department. Since graduating, he has been with the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio as a Controls Engineer developing dynamic models of supersonic propulsion systems for Aero-Propulso-Servo-Elasticity research and is the task lead for Model-Based Engine Control under Vehicle Safety System Technologies. Joe is currently in the aerospace engineering graduate program at OSU pursuing his Ph.D. degree. In addition, he is the founder of our OSU AISES chapter
